We require an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated care worker / support worker, (minimum 1 year experience) to join our vibrant team in a six bed home in Harrow for adults with learning disabilities. Work on a rotated shift pattern (includes day shifts, evening shifts, weekend shifts). 39 hours per week. Pay range £8.21+ per hour dependent on experience. Applicants must be caring, patient and have a willingness to provide the best possible care which would allow people with a learning disability to live as high a quality of life as possible.
We offer training in Health and Social Care at levels 2, 3 and 5. Well located, close to Harrow on the Hill tube and bus station. Comfortable working environment. We aim to be flexible with our shifts and will seek to accommodate staff requests as far as possible.

Some of the responsibilities of support worker / care assistant:
General day to day responsibilities within the service include cooking, shopping, eating in restaurants, going to the gym, going to the cinema, personal care and domestic duties that support the Service User
Monitoring any progress and recording notes in the daily record books
Liaising with family, friends, advocates, external agencies and the management team to provide a consistent approach that meets the individual needs of each service user.
Show empathy and actively listen in a sensitive manner, accessing any additional support where necessary.
Requirements of support worker / care assistant:
Understand the needs of adults who are vulnerable within society
Observant and sensitive to service user’s needs.
Ability to work autonomously and productively as part of a team
Keep promises and honour commitments, giving a reliable service.
Be patient and even tempered
Good inter-personal skills to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with other agencies, carers, family
Flexibility in working shifts is offered
Have good verbal and written communication skills including the English language.
